Refurbished Vintage Pottery Barn Table

While chalk paint proved to be quite popular several years ago when our Daughter-in-Law originally painted this table, the finish had yellowed after several years of use and showed many signs of not aging well.

Because this was a high-quality solid wood table, we determined it was easily worth the effort to completely strip and refinish it. Stripping involved removing the chalk paint as well as the table’s original finish. As can be seen in the photos, the process took a few passes to get off both of those finishes. Another significant challenge we faced was that we were refinishing it in Indiana and wanted the final finish to match chairs that were in Colorado. It was incredibly satisfying to finally see how well it turned out. All of us were thrilled with the result and our son and his family are happy to enjoy this wonderful family gathering table for many more decades to come.
